I apologize in advance for the length of this mission statement, but people don't understand this project unless I make its purpose explicitly clear.

My name is Adam Perkowski. I am an individual attempting to foster the development of a thriving community of artistic, motivated, and thoughtful people in Bellingham, Washington.

I started playing guitar when I was about 6, and released my first multitracked acoustic cover when I was 13. I've been making music since; lots of covers with miscellaneous originals here and there.

I started the To Pacify Maniacs project with a vision of an open collective for young artists. I wanted people to know that I was looking to work with everyone and anyone that was motivated to create indie / acoustic / electronica jams. I did a lot of solo tracks, and a handful of collabs with various vocalists. TPM was also a real band for a little bit, but we've recently gone in different directions.

I chose to use the band breakup as a way to reinvigorate this project - so here is my proposal.

I have a 10 year old Nikon D70 DSLR camera and a home studio with condenser microphones, 4 guitars (two regular, two bass - an acoustic and an electric of each), midi controllers, percussions, a keyboard, and a computer that runs Ableton 9.1, Cubase 5, and Photoshop CS3.

I want to do everything I can to help YOU create things and connect with other people that create things here in Bellingham. I do graphic design, photography, and audio production. I make Facebook pages and posters for events, and I promote local artists on the To Pacify Maniacs Facebook page and blogspot every day. My hope is that this blog can be a place where Bellingham artists can go to find other artists to collaborate with in their town, and where Bellingham art lovers can go to see what kinds of amazing things their neighbors are creating. I want to see musicians discovering visual artists here to do their album arts, and videographers finding musicians who are willing to have one of their tracks in an edit. I'd like to have a community contributing samples, photos, video throwaways, and any miscellaneous digital scraps or masterpieces to the TPM Google Drive archive so that one day any of those files may find their way into another work.

Its a dream inspired by the amazing artists in our town, and it has been created for the benefit of the amazing artists in our town, people who love art, and the community as a whole.

Magnum Gang DJs : Up-and-coming DJs from Bellingham. They have great mixes, and they know how to bring in a crowd.

Manatee Commune : Atmospheric electronica music from Grant Eadie, wherein Grant plays many different instruments such as viola, guitar, drums and more.

Mic M. L. Silverline : Imaginative poet with a vast portfolio of many different topics, formats, and messages.

Michael LaMartin : Amazing photography and photojournalism with a focus on nature and portraits.

Minor Plains : Progressive, experimental math rock.

Moonhat : Newer indie band with lo-fi vibes in the recordings, currently gigging in Bellingham.

Mr. Black Fox Films : Sam Kunesh’s old YouTube channel, featuring a few music videos and some fun, random clips.

MT$ : Yet another Bellingham hip-hop artist, interested in the local rap scene and the battle rap game.

Nick Smith : Old acoustic recordings (covers and an original) that Nick recorded and produced on his own.

One Silver Bullet : Acoustic jams that will make you feel feels you’ve never felt before.

Painters : Post-emo/hardcore group. Painters is an incredibly talented group of youngsters, who seem to be getting more and more recognition locally every week.

Pascal : Peppered local rapper and co-founder of LYT Entertainment.

Poison Jams : Dense, edgy rap songs from Mac Sinclair, one of the most talented producers and rappers I know. Part of the LYT Entertainment label.

Rebel Without Applause : Acoustic singer-songwriter style tunes from Knight Pollard-Davidson.

Sam Kunesh Videography : Sam Kunesh’s new YouTube channel, with more assorted miscellany.

Sapro : Fantasy-style illustrations and paintings, with a focus on humanoids and creatures alike.
